ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

For the New York State Congressional District, NY-21, is a mostly rural region, economic development for a preferred quality of life for its residents is a challenge as businesses find it difficult to seek lucrative investment opportunities.
In the face of a changing workplace environment, one option is remote work for its residents that allow the employee to work from home, which is beneficial to the people who are often "snowed in" for months each year.
As the Adirondack Park is an incredibly beautiful territory that encourages tourism, its natural resources are also viable for financial stability of the region through timber, construction, agriculture, wildlife, and pure water.
An area that was once prosperous for steel and paper mills has seen a decline in industry and employment that has caused much poverty.
With changing attitudes of Americans wanting to bring jobs back to our land, the time is coming that would allow for a resurgence of former and new industries back into the Adirondack Park.
As your Congressman, I will secure Federal funding and solicit corporations to help revitalize the area to put the people back to work.
Additional funding will be secured that will encourage new and small businesses to expand into the region, thereby creating a balance of work and play life with a substantial increase in tourism.
For the remaining areas of the district, employment opportunities will focus mostly on the return of larger companies and corporations in a variety of industries that will reflect the talents of the local workforces and enhance the infrastructure of small towns and villages.
New York has the potential to once again be an industry and educational leader of the nation if we can improve the business climate throughout the state by changing archaic and unfruitful laws and policies for a more friendly business environment.
This can be done through a cooperation of both state and Federal leaders determined to lower taxes and costs and to increase production and profits.
